Xerox has chosen Mtivity's marketing workflow platform to enhance outsourcing services to UK and European clients.

Mtivity the rapidly growing innovator in the marketing management software sector, today announced that Xerox Business Services, the outsourcing services division of technology giant Xerox, has purchased Mtivity's workflow solution.

Selecting Mtivity over a number of workflow, print management and print MIS products, Xerox will use Mtivity to connect its print management teams with its facilities managers at client sites, as well as clients, printers and other suppliers.

"Mtivity's workflow solution delivers the functionality and flexibility we need. In particular it bridges the gap between the marketing-centric processes of our clients and the print-centric processes of our suppliers. Mtivity will enable us to work efficiently with our clients and suppliers and deliver the best possible service and prices," said David Arnold, Service Development Manager of Xerox Business Services ePrint Procurement Division. "We needed to bring together huge volumes of production management activity in one system to support our core mission of delivering exceptional production management solutions with the most competitive pricing options."

Xerox recently signed two agreement with Lloyds TSB for Xerox to manage the bank's annual $46 million document spend of its group marketing operations and to manage up to seven digital print centres. Lloyds TSB's expanded relationship with Xerox is expected to deliver about $10 million in annual savings.

Xerox Business Services will use Mtivity to manage the high volume of jobs created by its clients. Each of those jobs can involve many people, including client staff, advertising agencies, facilities managers, print buying specialists and printers. There are large volumes of information such as tasks, quotes, graphics files and email. This creates huge potential for information overload, inefficiency and costly errors.

Xerox turned to Mtivity to create a centralised system of electronic job bags to collate this disparate information and help job teams collaborate. Because Mtivity is a browser-based application, it can be accessed via the Internet on the road, at home or at any of Xerox's client sites. The aim is for Mtivity to be the focal point for all types of job, from marketing brochures, through to direct mail and personalised 1-to-1 marketing communications. Management is able to monitor service levels to customers, as well as assess sales performance for each individual, group and location.

"Large businesses are turning to Mtivity to get control over complex marketing, creative and production activities," said Mat Atkinson, CEO of Mtivity. "Marketing and associated specialisations such as print management have been very badly served by technology. They are probably the last area of business to get applications to help them become more efficient. We hear time and again that marketing and production people just never have enough time to get everything done and that there is no software on the market that really meets their needs. The reason for this lack of technology is that creative disciplines are so collaborative and complex. Every job is different and different people are involved each time. Mtivity has developed innovative value-chain solutions to solve these problems."
